Nightstand Redo

I saw this nightstand (or excuse me… “bedside table” as they’re called these days) on potterybarn.com. It inspired me fiddle around with mine…

PB’s:

Mine:

Instead of putting a basket or more books above the drawers I used a cigar box as storage. A lot of cigar shops will sell or put empty cigar boxes in front of the store for people to take… which I think is a great alternative to other storage systems (not to mention super creative).

::Side note:: Check out the cover of February’s Bon Appetit: Whole Grain Pancakes with Wild Blueberry Maple Syrup. Thinking about making this for breakfast this weekend… stay tuned :)

yay fun.

Cigar boxes are great. They smell fabulous too, absolutly nothing like cigar smoke, which would basically make you want to die, but more fresh and organic. And they remind me of my youth, we used to store crayons in them when I was a kid!

I love getting cigar boxes at stores! I have several and I even use one for a recipe box.

katelin: I’m excited to make them! I’ll post pictures when they’re done :P

Dutchess: The smell of cigars makes me happy! I love it… and crayons in the cigar box… such a good idea, i’ll have to remember that when i have kids… which is no time soon :) :)

Waste_time: Another great idea! I might have to pick up some more cigar boxes to use as a recipe box :)
