i love THAT blue table setting (the last one). I’m not a very wedding-focused person, adn not that many of my friends have gotten marriet yet. I never even really thought about all the work adn chocies that go into even seemingly simple things like the table settings!!! I seriously am going to need a wedding planner!

My favorite wedding was one I planned on Cape Cod. During the wedding, which was on a boat dock OVER the water a hurricane hit, which was expected to have passed. The entire wedding party of 100+ people had just walked inside to cut the cake and two seconds later they all looked outside to grab cameras, etc and were met with a giant wall of water that crashed into the tent which my staff and I had JUST cleared of all plates, centerpieces and personal belongings at the speed of light. The party had to be squeezed into an interior glassed room, but the closeness and the excitement of the hurricane I think added to the festivity of it being an outdoor, early autumn wedding. No one complained or said a word once the music started back up!

I have to admit it’s a little weird for me to comment on this post because I am pretty much the antiwedding girl. But I still agree with a lot of the advice. If I get married I want it to be a small and personal affair. I have an obession with wantign to do it at a small vineyard near my parents’ house (in Minnesota, the most unlikeliest of places) or in the old wing of the BPL. The most memorable weddings I have been to have been those of college friends. It has had less to do with the wedding itself or any decorations, but more for the fact it was a lovely reunion.

Haha, it’s kind of funny seeing the mall with all those chairs and tables. That event sounds like so much fun. I think the tip about getting vendors you can trust is definitely the most important one!! I actually fired my wedding planner after a month of working with her because she was stressing me out and not doing her job. Instead I hired people that know what they’re doing, and planned the rest myself. With great vendors, you know you’ll be taken care of. I thought our reception room looked beyond incredible! My favorite wedding was MY wedding. lol What, it really was!
