The other night our good friend Kate’s boyfriend, Paul, hosted an Ugly Sweater Party. Sues, Chris, and myself, of course, all waited until the day-of to venture out in search of appropriate gear, so it was quite an adventure with holiday shoppers, long lines, and crazy parking lots! We ended up with sweaters that we wouldn’t typically buy – especially considering they were from Gap Kids – but they weren’t sooo ugly. I actually quite enjoyed mine and I’m sure I will make every attempt to squeeze my 5’10″ self into it another time or two!

Sipping eggnog out of a moose cup! Looking like I’m 3.5 years old and drinking out of a “sippy cup”

Close-up of the shirt I made Chris! I’ll never turn down an opportunity to do a crafty project! If anyone is looking for last minute “ugly sweaters” and is having a difficult time finding something (as we were), just make your own! I took a holiday placemat from Target, cut it out in a Christmas tree shape, and added some festive garland as the outline! BOOM! Ugly sweater in no time!
Paul and Kate did a wonderful job stocking up all the food and drinks too; there were lots of cheeses, snacks, beverages, and desserts for all of us! Check out the bahhhh…Boston accent for you

Delicious cheese spread that I very well could have eaten by myself.

The perfect oatmeal, cranberry, white chocolate cookies that Sues made were a huge hit!

Katie also made a funfetti cake!!! We’re best friends for a reason, you know.

Me, Melis, and Kate

Oh, hello Santa

HOLYYYY close up, hehe. We like to model for Gap Kids in our spare time. Don’t you?
Something else you should know. There was a Yankee Swap. I won a Snuggie and it is blue. So, yes, I am now officially the owner of a Snuggie. I’m secretly (although, not so much a secret anymore) excited to have one although slightly confused by them considering it is just a backwards robe, after all. It did come with a reading light though! I need to wash it before I use it and then unfortunately, I’m sure one day a photo of me wearing it will surface on the blog, hehe
Thanks to Kate and Paul for having us. As usual, it’s always lovely to spend time with good friends, especially around the holidays!
Have any of you other bloggers posted about ugly sweater parties this year? Would love to see some photos… send us links!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good times!
these sweater parties look like so much fun! I think I need to have one next year.
Both of your sweaters being ugly is debatable! Maybe its just that you two pulled it off too good
It’s my dream to attend an Ugly Sweater party. With Christmas only 9 days away, I’ll probably have to wait til next year!
I concur with Julie; I think you both missed the “ugly” part of Ugly Sweater party. It’s all good though, Chris and his sweater made up for it (ugly in the best way possible, Chels).
Love the moose cups! I need to find a set for our annual “ugly” sweater party. This will be our second year hosting and it is always a laugh to see what people come up with. Merry Christmas!
I’m a proud owner of a snuggie!!
thank you both for coming!!! it was a blast…and paul said your pictures made it look like it was a classy party
I agree with Julie, way more gap model than ugly. I had a yankee swap at work and snuggies were such a hit too, who would have thought!
LOVE the Patriots tree topper!! The Pats ornament is always the first one to go on the tree (front and center) every year- haha!
