I live in Washington Square and am SO happy to see American Craft doing well! The ho-hum food at Roadhouse after they changed their menu was really disappointing. My husband and I went to dinner at American Craft recently and I had the turkey burger – thought I’d try something unusual for me – and it was AMAZING! Not your typical turkey burger. It was juicy, flavorful, awesome. When we tried to go back with some friends on a Friday night, there was a 2 hour wait! Sucks for me, but good for them!

Man, I’ve been living in a cave…or, I’m not on Twitter enough! I had no idea Roadhouse was closing and American Craft was re-opening. I had never been to Roadhouse, but now I’m dying to go to American Craft after your review. I love a good grilled cheese! The addition of basil sounds fantastic! Thanks for this review!

I live right near the American Craft/Roadhouse, and I walk by it everyday to get to the T and the BBQ smell was AMAZING (and I’m even a vegetarian!). But the neighborhood is a pretty strict one so I can see how some people complained. I’ve been excited to try this place but the prices seem a little high. However, your review is just the push I needed to suck it up and spend the money to try it out. Probably tonight!

Your grilled cheese looks sooo good. I like Washington Street Tavern too but it is small.

I knew there were complaints and that they had to stop doing bbq but I didn’t know it closed down already. At least it was replaced with something fun.

Dave- I don’t think it’s necessarily “hipster” to be local, independent, and green. I think it’s a good thing, but that’s just me. And if indie music is what the patrons will enjoy, why not give it to them, right? Restaurants are supposed to give customers what they want; does that mean they’re jumping on the bandwagon?
